Dr. Mary F. Ice was born and raised in Puerto Rico; where she completed her degree in doctor of medicine as Magna Cum Laude at the University of Puerto Rico. Based on her bilingual skills, she chose to do her residency in Diagnostic Imaging in Houston, at the University of Texas.

During her time in residency, she realized the close contact with patients that Breast Imaging required and was subsequently drawn to continue a fellowship in this field. She finished her Breast Imaging fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2003. Dr. Ice has been in private practice since 2003 working as part of a team in a comprehensive breast center environment.
